STAAD - STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS AND DESIGN, well the abbreviation itself describes what the software is basically designed for, it was developed by Research Engineers International in 1997 and in late 2005 and Research Engineers International was bought by Bentley Systems. This software actually saved a lot of paper if u think in another way, you can think in any manner but let’s think in a straight direction, it has reduced the amount of time and manpower required to analysis and design any complex building. The software works on the concept of RAM and is extensively helping all those structural designer to design any sophisticated steel and concrete designs.
ETABS- Computers and Structures company developed Etabs software, so that it would cater the needs to a structural engineer who designs exclusively multi-storey building, it come with all kinds of structural elements that are casted in a multi-storey building. This is exclusively used by almost all multinational construction companies because of its user-friendly interference and it also contains all the standards used worldwide, making it a global level analysis and design software.
Primavera- Well designer are not alone who has to use software for their professional needs. Management is another complex field which would become easy, if u have couple of application. Therefore Oracle came with Primavera which is a project portfolio management software used by engineering management graduates of all disciplines, it includes both project and product management. It helps in planning process of any project or product from its scrap to completed stage.
